Last cakes of the year

For Christmas I made some lemon raspberry cake pops. I made lemon cake and added raspberry icing. There was just a hint of raspberry, so I will have to experiment with them a little more. But they were yummy none the less.

I also made a mini cake since I had some extra cake left over. I had some new Christmas tree cutters that I wanted to use. It was very simple, but cute.

And the last cake I made for the year was a ladybug smash cake for my friend's daughter.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to making more goodies in 2011.

Mario Bros

These were made for Mario Bros. themed birthday party. I had trouble with the fondant on the cake. I'm not sure why, but it started to crack. I tried to cover up as much as I could on the cake. It's a vanilla cake with buttercream icing. The little figures on top are the only things not edible.

The cupcakes turned out real cute. They are lemon raspberry with fondant toppers.

I made the cake pops to look like the little mushrooms from the game. It was late and I was tired, so I didn't realize that almost all of the pictures I took were blurry. So here is the best non-blurry picture I have. It doesn't do it justice because they were so cute in person.
