Call of Duty cake

This past weekend I made a Call of Duty cake. I made the cake look like camo and added a gun and grenade on top. I made the gun and grenade out of rice krispie treats and covered them in fondant. I think it turned out great!

This week I have 2 big orders and St. Patricks Day cupcakes to make. I'm pretty excited about the cupcakes. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Paxton's cake

This past weekend I made a cake for a very special little boy's 2nd birthday. It was a comic book theme with bold colors. I was given control over the cake flavor, so I decided to try something new. I made chocolate cake with an Oreo filling. I didn't get to taste the cake and filling together, but I'm told it was a success.
Here is the Oreo filling.
And the cake.

Birthday cupcakes, Butt cakes, and Hello Kitty

The first order I had this past weekend was for a little girl's birthday. I made chocolate cupcakes with mint icing and vanilla cupcakes with raspberry icing.
The second order I had was for another butt cake. This one was a lot of fun because I got to add a tattoo with the birthday boy's name :)
The last order I had was a cake for my friend's 30th birthday party. Her best friend wanted a Hello Kitty cake, and I had been wanting to make one for a long time. I was really happy with how it turned out.

Xbox cupcakes

I made an order of Xbox cupcakes this past weekend. They were made to look like these cupcakes. I had some issues with the logo. I couldn't seem to get it right no matter how much I tried.
But I had no problem with the controllers! I had so much fun making the little controllers. They were so cute!

Valentine's Day

This year I made lots of goodies for Valentines Day. A friend ordered a dozen Valentine cupcakes, and she let me do whatever design I wanted. I decided to make the sweet hearts candy out of fondant. I had a lot of fun making these.

I've been wanting to try making cake pops in the shape of a heart, so what better time to try?! I made up the cake pop mix and used a heart shaped cookie cutter to shape them. It was super easy. I wanted to do different designs so I covered some in sprinkles, some in sanding sugar, and some I drizzled chocolate over them. I was so happy with the way they turned out. I almost wanted to keep them all for myself :)

I had planned on making my Mom chocolate covered strawberries, since that is her favorite. I ended up having some extra cake pops left over, so I decided to add them to the strawberries.

I hope you had a yummy Valentine's Day!

First cakes of the year

I've been so busy lately that I forgot to post pictures of the cakes I've done so far. The first cake I did this year was a butt cake. I'd never made any kind of cake like this before, but I think it turned out real good.

I also made an Over the Hill cake. The person who ordered it wanted it to look just like the Over the Hill cake I made last year.

Last cakes of the year

For Christmas I made some lemon raspberry cake pops. I made lemon cake and added raspberry icing. There was just a hint of raspberry, so I will have to experiment with them a little more. But they were yummy none the less.

I also made a mini cake since I had some extra cake left over. I had some new Christmas tree cutters that I wanted to use. It was very simple, but cute.

And the last cake I made for the year was a ladybug smash cake for my friend's daughter.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to making more goodies in 2011.
